The Bank of Thailand will likely keep monetary policy loose through next year, according to a deputy governor, given the country’s weak economy and the risk of further global shocks.

Policy will remain accommodative as the bank sees growth remaining below potential and inflation below target “for the whole of next year,” Deputy Governor Piti Disyatat, who is also the vice chairman of the Monetary Policy Committee, said in an interview Thursday in Bangkok.
