Pakistan Lifts Growth Estimate as Industrial Output Rebounds
Pakistan raised its growth estimate for the June quarter after industrial output surged, aided by lower borrowing costs aimed at reviving the economy.
Gross domestic product for the April-June period, the economy grew at 5.66%, higher than the 3.1% expansion predicted by economists in a Bloomberg survey. It lifted the expansion to 3.04% in the year ended June compared with an earlier estimate of 2.7%, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday on its website.
