La Guardia Airport Flights Temporarily Halted on Data Outage

Flights in and out of the LaGuardia airport in the New York area were grounded for an hour due to an equipment outage, further adding to disruptions that have snarled the US airspace amid the government shutdown.

Flights into the airport were held at their origin until 4 p.m. local time, while departures were delayed by as much 45 minutes, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. There was a low probability of an extension of the delays, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
