“This was the most severe blackout incident in Europe in the last 20 years, and what’s more important now is that this was the first of its kind,” Damian Cortinas, the chairman of the board of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity, or Entso-E, told reporters Friday ahead of the release of a report on the outage. A final assessment is still months away from being published.
