French Retailer Prosol Is Said to Draw Interest from CD&R

A formal auction process of selling Prosol, known for running the Grand Frais supermarket chain in France, is likely to be kicked off next month.

US buyout firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice is among the potential bidders for French food retailer Prosol Group, owned by European private equity firm Ardian, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Ardian has been working with its advisers on reviving the sale of Prosol and has reached out to a range of financial investors including major buyout firms and family offices, the people said. CD&R, which has been investing in France for more than two decades, has been studying the asset, the people said.
