Airports Shut, Thousands Flee as Storm Slams Vietnam
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on Sunday suspended operations at four coastal airports, including in Danang, and authorities ordered mass evacuations as Tropical Storm Bualoi barreled into the Southeast Asian country.
Northern and central coastal regions are expected to be hit with downpours ranging from 100 millimeters (3.9 inches) to exceeding 600 millimeters through Tuesday, according to the government. It warned of possible flash floods and landslides, threatening lives and destroying infrastructure.
