In October 2023, a letter arrived at a Kindbody clinic in Chicago alleging that the company had dismissed red flags and warnings and ended up being one of the fertility providers to help Greg Lindberg, a billionaire trying to father dozens of children through egg donors and surrogates. The Chicago clinic had started helping Lindberg years before Kindbody bought it, but the startup's executives were made aware of issues that Lindberg’s case posed, according to current and former employees. Three of Lindberg’s children were born to surrogates treated there after Kindbody had acquired it and, as of December 2024, it was still storing his specimen for future use.
