Trump Administration Is Said to Seek Stake in Lithium Americas
The US is seeking an equity stake in Lithium Americas Corp. as it renegotiates terms of a $2.3 billion Energy Department loan, according to people familiar with the matter.
Reuters reported earlier Tuesday that the administration was seeking as much as a 10% stake in Lithium Americas, whose Thacker Pass mine in Nevada is one of the largest lithium deposits in the US. Shares of the Vancouver-based company almost doubled in postmarket trading in New York.
