Voters in Guinea headed to the polls on Sunday for referendum on a new constitution intended to pave the way for a return to democracy in the West African nation, which has been under military rule since a coup four years ago.

The proposed supreme law would limit presidents to two seven-year terms, but it doesn’t bar General Mamadi Doumbouya — who led the coup — from standing in the next presidential election.
