Anglo American Cuts Australian Coal-Mine Jobs on Price Slump
Anglo American Plc is cutting jobs at some Australian coking coal mines to safeguard its long-term sustainability, while saying that production would remain unaffected.
The mining giant didn’t specify the number of job losses in an emailed statement on Thursday confirming the cuts. The Australian Financial Review reported earlier that close to 300 roles would be lost, with the focus on its Grosvenor mine in Queensland.
