General Mills Cites Cautious Shopper in Reiterating Outlook

General Mills Inc. posted a solid quarter, but kept its outlook in place as the maker of Cheerios cereal called out consumers being cautious from economic uncertainty.

“We continue to see consumers seeking value,” Chief Executive Officer Jeff Harmening said in prepared remarks. It’s an “evolving operating environment,” he said while also pointing to changes in food policy.
