Turkey Detains Opposition Mayor of Bayrampasa, Istanbul: Anadolu

The Istanbul prosecutor’s office launched an investigation into Istanbul’s Bayrampaşa municipality on charges of “bribery” and “bid rigging,” state-run news agency Anadolu reported.

The prosecutor office issued arrest warrants for 48 suspects and Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu, who belongs to the main opposition CHP, is among those who have been detained by police, according to the report.
