Overnight Tremor Hits Near Greek Island of Evia, No Major Damage

An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 struck overnight just off the coast of the Greek island of Evia, shaking the Greek capital without causing major damage or disruption.

The earthquake took place 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) north west of the town of Nea Styra in Evia, Greece’s second largest island, and its depth was 13.6 kilometers, according to the Geodynamics Institute of Athens.
