J&J’s Drug-Delivery System Approved for Bladder Cancer
Johnson & Johnson’s INLEXZO device
Source: PR NewswireJohnson & Johnson said it won US approval for a tiny drug-delivery system to treat bladder cancer, a first-of-its kind product the company expects to bring in blockbuster revenue.
Called Inlexzo, the system is a mechanical tube inserted into the bladder, where it folds into the shape of a pretzel and metes out a tumor-killing drug over the course of three weeks. In a key clinical trial, 82% of patients treated with Inlexzo had no detectable cancer within four months, and 51% stayed disease-free for at least a year.
