Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes rejected procedural claims made by Jair Bolsonaro’s defense team as the former president’s trial on coup attempt charges resumed, pushing back on arguments that they have not had sufficient access to evidence.

“Absolutely all of the evidence” has been available to Bolsonaro’s attorneys, Moraes said at start of Tuesday’s session, in which judges are starting to vote on whether to find the right-wing former leader guilty on charges that he attempted to stay in power after his 2022 election defeat by plotting a coup.
