Guyana’s Elections Body Declares Ali Winner in Monday Vote

Guyana’s Elections Commission late on Saturday declared incumbent President Irfaan Ali the winner in Monday’s general and regional elections.

The People’s Progressive Party Civic or PPPC won 242,497 votes and was awarded 36 out of 65 seats in the National Assembly, according to figures given by the commission.
