Slovenian Leader Vows to End Central-Bank Stalemate by 2026 Vote
Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar pledged to revive the process of installing a new central-bank chief in a bid to fill the position before elections in 2026.
The job, which includes a seat on the European Central Bank’s interest rate-setting Governing Council, has been vacant for almost eight months, with Pirc Musar unable to agree with the government on a suitable candidate.
