Dalata Hotel CEO Says ‘Soft’ UK Hotel Demand Weighed on Earnings

Dalata Hotel Group Plc’s Chief Executive Officer Dermot Crowley said the UK tourism and hotel industry is going through a particularly challenging period, hurting earnings at the Irish hotel operator.

“It’s a challenging environment for the UK tourism industry and UK hotel industry specifically,” Crowley said in an interview, citing an increase in wages, national insurance contributions and rising room taxes.
