Jefferies Is Said to Tap JPMorgan’s Melly as APAC Head of Financial Institutions Group

Jefferies Financial Group Inc. has hired Michael Melly from JPMorgan Chase & Co. as Asia-Pacific head of its financial institutions group investment banking franchise, according to people familiar with the matter.

Melly will lead work on transactions involving banks, insurers, asset managers and other clients in the region, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is private. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong and is due to start his new role as soon as later this year, the people said.
