The European Union and the US have announced a political agreement that will completely reset the €1.7 trillion ($2 trillion) transatlantic trade relationship.

The EU agreed to accept a 15% tariff on most of its exports to the US, while the bloc’s tariffs on American goods should drop below the current average of around 1% once the deal goes into effect. EU trade chief Maros Sefcovic conceded that it was “the best deal we could get under very difficult circumstances.”
