Texas Republicans Propose Map for Trump-Backed Redistricting

The unusual mid-decade restructuring targets Democratic seats around Houston, Dallas and Central Texas, said Mark Jones, a political science professor at Rice University. That sets up a showdown in the state legislature, with Democrats threatening to flee Texas in a bid to force legislative activity to a standstill.
