Companies canceled, closed or scaled back more than $22 billion worth of investments in clean-energy projects during the first half of this year ahead of President Donald Trump’s signing of a tax bill that rolls back Biden-era green tax breaks.

That represents about 17% of the $133 billion worth of green projects announced since the start of 2022, many of which are based in Republican-led states, according to E2, a research group that advocates for environmental policies.
