ECB Seen Opting for Lending Tools Over QE in Future Crises

The European Central Bank will pick lending to banks over bond-buying in almost all future situations that require unconventional responses, according to a Bloomberg poll of economists.

Boosting liquidity through longer-term refinancing operations is seen as the ECB’s top choice to address weak inflation, flagging economic growth, financial instability or obstacles to policy transmission.
