Minerva to Take Part in Antitrust Review of Marfrig-BRF Deal

Brazilian beef producer Minerva SA has been secured a say in the antitrust review of its rival Marfrig Global Foods SA’s proposed takeover of sausage maker BRF SA after raising concerns about the impact of the transaction on its operations.

Minerva was accepted as an interested third-party in the process analyzing the deal, which would combine BRF and Marfrig into one operation rivaling the world’s top food suppliers, according to a filing with Brazil’s antitrust watchdog.
