Lawyers for Harvard University urged a federal judge to ensure that the Trump administration won’t impose alternative restrictions on the school’s enrollment of foreign students after the government’s earlier efforts were blocked.

In a Thursday filing in Boston federal court, Harvard asked US District Judge Allison Burroughs to bar the administration from taking any further steps that alter the “status quo” that existed before May 22. That was the date Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced she was revoking the university’s ability to enroll foreign students.
