Thames Water Is Fined £123 Million After Breaching Sewage Rules
Thames Water will be fined £122.7 million ($165 million) by regulator Ofwat following investigations into the company’s handling of waste water and dividend payments.
A probe into how Thames managed its treatment works and wider wastewater network uncovered failings that amount to a “significant breach” of its legal obligations, Ofwat said Wednesday. The watchdog stipulated that the fines be paid by the company and its investors, and not by customers.
