Instacart Promotes Business Chief Rogers to CEO as Simo Leaves for OpenAI

Instacart promoted Chief Business Officer Chris Rogers to chief executive officer, replacing Fidji Simo who said earlier this month that she’s leaving for a top leadership position at OpenAI.

Rogers will step into the role Aug. 15, at which point he’ll also join Instacart’s board of directors, the company said in a statement Wednesday. Simo will remain chair of the board.
