Dueling US-China Videos Spark Pushback From Singapore Government

Singapore signaled displeasure at embassies attempting to evoke a public response, after the US and Chinese missions to the city-state posted dueling social media videos lashing out at one another on issues from the Panama Canal to the South China Sea.

“The Singapore Government rejects attempts by foreign embassies to incite domestic reactions to international issues involving third countries,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement Wednesday evening without naming either country. “Complex issues are best resolved through appropriate channels for effective diplomacy.”
