One Data Point Signals Trouble Brewing in the US Labor Market

The number of unemployed people exceeded job openings in 14 US states in February, the most since April 2021, according to an analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data released Wednesday.

In February, Kentucky, New York, Ohio and Rhode Island joined the ranks of states meeting that condition, which suggests an increasingly tough job market.
