The Trump administration has formed a special investigations team to look into allegations that female student athletes are being discriminated against when they compete against transgender women.

The Justice and Education departments on Friday announced the creation of a “Title IX special investigations team,” which refers to a section of the 1972 Education Amendments Act that educational institutions receiving federal funds cannot deny women an equal opportunity to participate in sports.
