Daiwa Securities Group will increase its employees’ pay by around 5%, its fourth consecutive annual pay hike, the latest example of Japanese companies hiking wages amid rising living costs.

The Tokyo-based brokerage will raise the salary matrix across all job positions, including at subsidiaries, it said in a statement Wednesday. The hike equates to a cumulative total of more than 20% over the past four years.
