Boeing Co. Chief Executive Officer Kelly Ortberg will testify before a Senate panel about steps the planemaker has taken to address safety and quality breakdowns in the wake of a near-catastrophe on one of its jets last year.

Ortberg will appear before the Senate Commerce Committee on April 2, the panel said in a statement Friday. The company has been under close scrutiny by lawmakers and regulators in Washington since a door-sized panel blew off an airborne 737 Max in January 2024.
