The butler summoned the young female employee to Evelyn de Rothschild’s private office at his grand manor house in Buckinghamshire, northwest of London.

Rothschild asked her to sit down. Then he got up, closed the window blinds and lunged at the woman, according to three people she told about the incident in the months after it happened. She tried to fight him off, but he overpowered her, forced her back onto the chair and sexually assaulted her, the people said. When the attack was over, he dismissed her, warning her to say nothing about what had happened.
