An Entire Barrel of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Is Up for Auction

Fans of philanthropy and fantastically rare American whiskey, take note: Sazerac Co. is auctioning off a monumental trove of bourbon, including Pappy Van Winkle, Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace, with 100% of the proceeds earmarked for California wildfire relief efforts. The fundraiser is built around three separate lots whose respective values vary by orders of magnitude.

Entry level is a full set of the 2024 Pappy Van Winkle Collection: six bottles ranging from 10 to 23 years in age, currently fetching upwards of $12,000 on secondary markets. Then there’s a 25-year-old expression of Eagle Rare, released just once in late 2023 and now capable of commanding $27,000 per decanter.
