Finnair Oyj said it may be forced to cut as many as 90 pilots operating its wet lease contracts after unresolved industrial action in Finland jeopardizes the cooperation agreement with its partner.
The Finnish national carrier’s two A330 aircraft have been wet leased by another airline flying with Finnair crew between Sydney and Bangkok and Singapore. After months of collective labor negotiations for pilots, which remain unresolved, the pilot’s union has now extended industrial action to also cover the flights operated for the partner carrier, which include a stand-by ban.
