A Japanese tabloid that broke the news about alleged sexual harassment by a prominent TV host involving Fuji Media Holdings Inc, triggering a public outcry and spooking advertisers, has corrected a part of its story.

Shukan Bunshun said it withdrew an allegation that a Fuji Media executive was directly involved in setting up a meal at which the incident took place. It added, however, that it stood by its allegation that the manager had invited the victim to an earlier barbecue at the home of Masahiro Nakai, one of the country’s best-known TV hosts.
