More sponsors including Japan’s Nissan Motor Co. and Seven & i Holdings Co. are suspending advertisements on Fuji Media Holdings Inc.’s TV station amid an inquiry into a scandal involving a celebrity host.
Cosmetics maker Kao Corp. also halted its ads, joining a list of firms taking action after reports that J-pop idol turned TV host Masahiro Nakai harassed a woman and an employee of Fuji Media was involved in the incident. A group representing investors including accounts under management of Dalton Investments Inc. last week urged the company to probe the scandal.
