Afghanistan’s Taliban-led government, which launched strikes on Pakistani military posts over the weekend, said it won’t escalate the situation but warned it will retaliate if attacked again.
“We don’t intend to escalate,” Mohammad Suhail Shaheen, the head of the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, said in text messages. “If Pakistan resorts to further escalation, it will be followed by our measured retaliation.”
