Black graduates face racial discrimination when applying for jobs in financial, professional and legal sectors in the UK, new research shows, even as companies say they are committed to tackling underrepresentation of minorities at work.

Black students are more likely to apply for a position within these industries than their university peers but are half as likely to receive a job offer, according to a survey of 400 students conducted by Bain & Co. in partnership with the Black Talent Charter in the winter of 2023.
