When Business Is Just a Game
Corporate trainer Abilitie uses simulations to teach lessons in management.
When is the high-stakes, high-pressure world of the C-suite just a game? When executives at emerging companies Compuline and Nanotel met on a Wednesday evening in May to manage existing products and roll out new ones, that’s exactly what it was. The “executives” were students in corporate training firm Abilitie’s online comprehensive business skills course, stylized as a “12-week MBA.” The program is built around simulations of real-life business and management decision-making.
Development of alternative and online MBA programs is in vogue today as traditional business schools simultaneously grow more expensive and less popular. Abilitie has been using this program and its individual components to teach financial analysis and management skills to up-and-coming employees at top U.S. companies since 2019.
