Bill Hwang’s defense lawyer cited a legendary investing expert in his opening statements in the Archegos Capital Management fraud and market manipulation trial. That expert won’t be testifying though, since he died 20 years ago.

Philip A. Fisher’s Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits and Other Writings guided Hwang’s investing strategy and was behind the trades over which he’s facing charges, lawyer Barry Berke said at the trial Monday in Manhattan federal court.
