Herb Kohl, Chain-Store Scion Turned US Senator, Dies at 88

Herbert Kohl, who ran his family’s eponymous retail and grocery stores before serving four terms as a Democratic US senator, has died. He was 88.

Kohl died following a brief illness, the Herb Kohl Foundation said in a statement late Wednesday.
