Justice Clarence Thomas recused as the US Supreme Court turned away an appeal from former President Donald Trump’s attorney John Eastman in a case stemming from the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

Thomas gave no explanation. The high court order left in place a lower court decision requiring Eastman to turn over emails to a US House committee.
