BookTok Darling RWRB’s Direct-to-Amazon Romance Is Frothy Fan-Service

There is usually a big sweeping gesture and often a breakup in between. The joy isn’t in the element of surprise. It’s in watching how the love story plays out.
That works in the favor of Red, White & Royal Blue, the direct-to-streaming adaptation of the #BookTok-famous Casey McQuiston novel by the same name, out on Amazon Prime Video on Aug. 11. Readers of the book, which was first published in 2019, already know how First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry of England are drawn together, then apart, then back together again. Those who haven’t read the novel will have a good time watching Alex and Henry’s story unfold, but this is a movie for the fans.
