Elon Musk’s Money Doesn’t Just Talk, It Tweets

The world’s richest man could buy his favorite social network, but maybe he just wants to make a little noise.

Given the proximity to April 1, the headline required more than just a second reading. Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and the chief executive officer of Tesla Inc., has bought a 9.2% stake in Twitter Inc., making him the company’s biggest shareholder.

It feels like a post-postmodern joke. Musk moves stocks and cryptocurrencies alike with his tweets. So perhaps it’s only right and proper that the platform that’s home to many a meme should become a meme stock itself.
