The Single Most Satisfying Way to Wash Off That Pandemic Grime

When you’re a hammer, everything is a nail—which is maybe why ever since I got this new pressure washer, gunk is everywhere I look.

The pressure washer came into my life in the spring, just as I was marking a year spent almost entirely at home. I’d noticed that my car had accumulated a layer of bird droppings from being driven so infrequently and I realized that, although I can now bake a cake without a recipe, my life had become a lot like my poop-covered car. Maybe a new pressure washer could be just the tool for sloughing off all that gunge.

We all spent 2020 working through our collective trauma in our own ways. Some of us started first gardens, while others mastered loaves of banana bread. Others went full-on prepper and got backyard chickens. But the more I dug into deciding how much water-wielding power I needed, I discovered that there’s a pressure washer for just about every type of pandemic you might’ve had.
