Adrian Peterson will be reinstated as an active National Football League player on Friday and can again participate in all activities with the Minnesota Vikings, the NFL said in a statement.

Peterson, who was the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2012 after rushing for more than 2,000 yards, was banned from the league in November following his Texas conviction in an abuse case involving his 4-year-old son.
