In 2012 the Defense Department agreed to pay $13.4 million for parts supplied by Bell Helicopter. The DOD watchdog says they should have cost $4.4 million. Audits are planned. “If it’s an isolated case, that’s one thing,” Under Secretary Frank Kendall said on July 10. “If it’s systemic, that’s a much bigger deal.”
