1. No. 1 U.S. pipeline company Kinder Morgan Energy Partners will acquire Copano Energy for about $3.2 billion in stock to capitalize on rising natural gas output from shale basins in Texas, Oklahoma, and Wyoming.
2. AT&T will acquire airwaves from larger rival Verizon Wireless for $1.9 billion, adding spectrum in 18 states, including California, Texas, New York, and Florida.
